Why did Meyer Cookware and Chef David Chang decide to team up?
Amongst a sea of cookware brands, Meyer Cookware stood out to Chang because of the brand’s research-driven approach to empowering home chefs, built on the foundation of a half a century of cookware engineering expertise and human-centered design. With a shared passion for challenging the status quo and a love for data-driven insights, Dave and the Meyer team have been working together for over 2 years - honing insights for the continued development and recent launch of the brands Accent Series line. When it came to finding the right business advisor and partner to join the brand, Meyer was instantly drawn to Dave. From his Michelin-recognized restaurants to his multi-faceted business success to his passion as a dad cooking for his family at home, he always challenges the norm and concocts smart, efficient, out-of-the-box ideas on how to create delicious food and loves to share those tips with food-loving home cooks. This shared rebellious spirit and his commitment to his craft and fans solidified the relationship.
What was the inspiration behind this collection?
Inspired by some of Dave’s favorite Meyer items and must-have kitchen essentials (aka - Dave’s faves), this new, limited-edition, titanium colorway is a nod to Dave’s innovative, yet minimalist signature design aesthetic that carries over into all of his products, restaurants and partnerships. It’s equally reflective of the sleek and ergonomic design and the exceptional performance of Meyer Accent series. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to empower the home chef to create culinary masterpieces with ease and delight and simplify busy lifestyles in the kitchen.
What does Meyer do?
Here at Meyer, we create gorgeous, brilliantly practical, delightfully minimal, meticulously crafted cookware developed with human-centered design. Our cookware doesn’t just challenge the status quo- it obliterates it! Our secret sauce? We visited over 150 homes around the world - from Mumbai to Melbourne and San Francisco to Shanghai. Families welcomed our team into their kitchens to share how they prep and cook their food. How they keep their cabinets tidy, or not. How they sit down to eat their meals, and how they clean it all up. We brought those insights back to the drawing board to create insightfully-designed cookware that stands the test of time — and most importantly, earns its spot in your kitchen.
Who is the Meyer Labs team and why should I trust the quality of these products?
Meyer Labs is the crew behind your favorite cookware! We are a small, entrepreneurial, food-loving, global team of creatives, engineers, and designers rooted in sunny California and vibrant Hong Kong. Somewhere between a spunky startup and an innovation think tank, our team has access to some of the world’s leading cookware experts who have been mastering their craft for the past five decades, behind brands like Hestan, KitchenAid, Rachael Ray, Anolon, and Circulon. It goes without saying, but we are obsessed with cooking. You can learn more about us on the About Us page.
Do you manufacture your own cookware?
Yes! Unlike a lot of other brands out there, we actually manufacture our products ourselves. Real product innovation is our pride and joy, and we oversee every aspect of our cookware's journey: from the first sketch to the moment it's shipped to your door. With decades of cookware engineering expertise, our team creates expectation-defying cookware that is not only stunning — it’s got award-winning functionality and durability to boot!
Where are the products made?
Meyer Cookware is designed by the Meyer Labs team in California and Hong Kong, and made at our top-of-the-line manufacturing campus in beautiful coastal Thailand, near Si Racha (of hot sauce fame!).
What materials do you use?
We use a range of high quality materials including recycled aluminum, white steel, and high-temperature oven-safe silicone. Our skillets, chef's pan, saucier, wok, and saucepan are made from high-conductivity aluminum with a triple-bonded nonstick finish for super fast heating and ease of cooking in frying, sauteing, and simmering. The stockpots, saute pan, and universal lids are made from heavy gauge, premium white stainless steel for the best performance in boiling and steaming. The handles are made from a special high temperature silicone for added comfort, oven-safety, and finger-protecting insulation. The pans are finished with a high-heat, oven-safe matte black exterior and stainless steel induction bases. Check each item’s product description for more information.
